Henrik Venus, MD

Henrik Venus is the founder and Medical Director of DoktorAkut. He trained in medicine at the Ruhr University Bochum and received his medical licence (Approbation) from the Landesprüfungsamt Arnsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia.

Before founding DoktorAkut, Henrik worked in acute internal medicine and emergency care in Germany. His goal with DoktorAkut is simple: to give international patients and privately insured residents of Munich the same quality of medical care at home as they would expect in a clinic — delivered calmly, in English where needed, and with transparent GOÄ billing.

Henrik is a member of the Ärztekammer Berlin (Berlin Medical Association) and bound by the Code of Professional Conduct (Berufsordnung) applicable to physicians in Germany. Professional indemnity cover is provided by Deutsche Ärzteversicherung.

Munich-based physicians

At launch, DoktorAkut will work with a small rotating panel of three to five German-licensed physicians based in Munich. All are bound by the Bavarian or Berlin Medical Association's Berufsordnung, hold professional indemnity cover, and speak fluent English.

We deliberately keep the team small. Every physician knows every patient's name. There is no overnight call centre — a real doctor answers every request personally within 15 minutes.
