Schwabing (postcodes 80796–80809) is one of Munich's largest districts and one of its most internationally minded. Home to the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, the Academy of Fine Arts, and a long-standing community of writers, academics, and media professionals, it combines lively Leopoldstraße with quiet residential side streets.
A doctor's home visit here is often the gentlest option — especially for elderly residents in the large Altbau apartments around Kaiserstraße, Herzogstraße and Elisabethplatz, or for sick students in WG flats near the University. Our physician brings everything needed for a full assessment.

We reach Schwabing from the Old Town in 10 to 15 minutes, from more distant districts in 20 to 25 minutes. The central artery is Leopoldstraße, running through Schwabing from Münchner Freiheit to the university; from the north we use Ungererstraße, from the west Schleißheimer Straße. For addresses in Schwabinger Tor or Parkstadt, the Mittlerer Ring (ring tunnel) is the fastest route.
By public transport, Schwabing is excellently served by U3/U6 (Giselastraße, Universität, Münchner Freiheit, Dietlindenstraße) and U2 (Hohenzollernplatz); tram lines 23 and 27 cross east-west. Around Leopoldstraße, resident parking zones are enforced and short-term spaces are scarce. We use loading zones or the underground garage at Schwabinger Tor and walk the last metres — usually faster than hunting for a space.
Schwabing is young — LMU students, creative professionals, and young career starters shape the district alongside established Altschwabing residents. We often treat migraine and stress-related headaches here, typically during exam or project phases. Early on-site treatment with IV fluids and a triptan can markedly shorten an attack and replaces the trip to the overloaded university clinic.

In the north of the district lies München Klinik Schwabing at Kölner Platz — with an interdisciplinary emergency department, paediatric clinic, and broad specialty spectrum. Immediately adjacent is the Schön Klinik München Schwabing, focusing on neurology and orthopaedic rehabilitation. The Deutsches Herzzentrum München (also in Schwabing) is the primary address for maximum cardiological care. The LMU outpatient clinic at the Innenstadt campus is a short ride via Leopoldstraße or Ludwigstraße.
