Solln lies in Munich's south between the Isar and the A95 motorway towards Starnberg. From the city centre we reach the district in 20 to 30 minutes — the main approach is Wolfratshauser Straße, the central north-south axis linking Solln with Thalkirchen and downtown. From the west we arrive via Forstenrieder Allee from Forstenried and Fürstenried, from the east via the Großhesseloher Brücke from Harlaching. The Mittlerer Ring feeds in via Boschetsrieder Straße in Solln-North.
Public transport: Solln connects to the trunk S-Bahn line via Solln station (S7 towards Wolfratshausen and Kreuzstraße); bus routes 63, 135, and 136 run along Wolfratshauser Straße and into the residential areas around Alt-Solln. Parking in the villa quarters is straightforward as most plots have their own driveways — we stop discreetly at the entrance or inside the driveway. In the denser areas around Sollner Platz we use public on-street parking. Solln has no resident permit zones.
